Heather Price began her career in South Africa in 1990, establishing a diversity consultancy to dismantle apartheid in the workplace which was nominated as one of the leading Human Resource consultancies in Southern Africa. She opened the doors of Symmetra in the Asia Pacific region in 2003, specialising in positioning organisations to leverage diversity to optimise business performance and innovation.
Recognised as an influential thought leader, Heather is called upon regularly to present in the C suite across the globe. Her multidisciplinary team conducts diagnostics; advises on best practice policy and strategy, and facilitates cutting edge solutions to blue chip clients on every continent, bringing to bear innovative tools, process and content, which Symmetra has built over the last decade.
In recognition of her achievements and expertise, Heather was voted a Finalist in the Telstra Business Women of the Year Awards (2011); has been invited to present at international conferences in the USA, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, India, Hong Kong and Singapore; invited as contributing author on Diversity and Inclusion in Maverick Executive: Strategies for Driving Clarity, Effectiveness and Focus (2016); and has been appointed repeatedly as one of 92 global experts on the Panel which ratifies the Global Diversity and Inclusion Benchmark Standards (2006, 2011 and 2015) – all testimony to global recognition of her ability to influence the
transformation of workplace cultures into inclusive environments.
Heather’s work attained international recognition in 2012 when CBA put its entire top leadership through Symmetra’s Unconscious Bias Program and received the Global Catalyst Award for the advancement of women. In July 2016, Symmetra’s Conscious Decision Making Program – designed to counteract the impact of unconscious bias on the quality of everyday business decisions – was a Finalist in the Australian Psychological Society Workplace Excellence Awards.
