Rachel is a practical and pragmatic strategist and educational leader, specialising in EduTech and technology enhanced learning. She takes an innovative approach to crafting learner-centred programs and was an early adopter of digital learning, simulations and blended delivery.
With extensive experience at the executive level within the tertiary education sector, Rachel’s strengths as a leader centre on: strategic thinking; inspiring people to launch initiatives and undertake projects; achieving goals and producing quality results; and challenging ideas to identify innovative solutions to problems.
Rachel has significant and award-winning experience driving major learning & teaching initiatives within the tertiary, secondary school and corporate sectors, with a focus on digital learning, simulated learning environments, capstone units and deep industry engagement.
A life-long learner, Rachel has a keen interest in leadership development, strategic growth, disruption, change management and innovation. In addition to her role as CEO & Director of Simmons Consulting she is the Co-founder and Director of Wellington & North (an online retail business). She is also an accredited facilitator for the international leadership program ‘The Chair Academy’ (incorporating Gallup StrengthsFinder), and an accredited practitioner of DiSC and the AIM Change Management methodology.
